Heather Hill Gardens has been in operation since 1992 when the owners moved into the Victorian house on the property. Over the years, the circa 1900 house has seen the addition of a tower and a greenhouse.
The grounds of Heather Hill Gardens feature three acres of Virginia native plants and have evolved to include sun gardens, shade gardens, and challenge gardens. Employing primarily organic techniques, the owners avoid using chemicals whenever possible.
Bonnie came to gardening quite naturally. Her father owns and operates a Christmas tree farm and her mother raised and cultivated orchids. Starting early in the family business, Bonnie's high school and college jobs were all in nurseries. After earning a B.S. in horticulture, she continued to train and hone her gardening skills, culminating in the opening of Heather Hill Gardens.
Heather Hill Gardens is located at 8111 Ox Road (Rt. 123) in Fairfax Station, Virginia.
